Thursday, 5 September 2024
The winery of the Benedictine monastery in Admont can celebrate a veritable shower of medals. Dveri Pax was awarded two gold and five silver medals at the largest officially recognised wine evaluation in the world.
The AWC Vienna has been decided. Almost 11,000 wines from around 1,400 producers from 41 countries faced international comparison at the world's largest officially recognised wine evaluation. Among them were exquisite wines from Dveri Pax. The winery, which is owned by the Benedictine monastery of Admont, is located in Jarenina, Slovenia, just a stone's throw from the border with Styria. The monastery in Upper Styria has been cultivating wine at the highest level for over 800 years on an area of around 73 hectares. Experience you can taste. Dveri Pax won the gold medal for its Sauvignon Blanc, vintage 2023. Gold was also awarded for the Dveri Pax Riesling M, vintage 2018.
Award-winning white wines
Four other white wines from Dveri Pax were awarded silver medals: The Riesling, vintage 2022, the Sauvignon Blanc V, vintage 2015, the Chardonnay, vintage 2019, and the Pinot Gris, vintage 2022, impressed the jury and brought the winery another international success.
Positive forecast for the 2024 vintage
In addition to highly awarded white wines, Dveri Pax also managed to win silver with a special rosé sparkling wine: the Pinot Noir, vintage 2018. "We are delighted that we have once again made a name for ourselves internationally," says Admont Abbey's economic director Franz Pichler, while also making a positive forecast for the 2024 vintage: "We are currently in the middle of the harvest season, much earlier than usual. The work is in full swing and we expect outstanding quality this year too."
