Art to understand\u201d. In the course of this exhibition, Heribert Friedl made a subtle intervention in the Admont library hall.<\/p>\n        <div class=\"spacer--40\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section id='lightpress__section--block_6fd0ce0ea936bd9f52c1e7f324095256' class='lightpress__section--default-section-space lightpress__section lightpress__section--content'><div class=\"content__inner\"\n         x-init=\"initContentBlockAnim($el)\">\n        \n    <div class=\"content__grid content__grid--fifty-fifty\">\n                                            <div class=\"content__box content__box\"\n                 style=\"\">\n                                \n                \n                                            <div class=\"prose\"><h5 class=\"heading-m line line-above line--gold\">SMELL<\/h5>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Heribert Friedl consistently and deliberately downplays optical effects in his works. Here, he was more concerned with what the visitors could smell \u2012 the odour to which they were exposed \u2012 rather than with what they could see. The mounted \u2018blank\u2019 boards were coated with an aromatic substance the scent of which was released when they were scratched.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Also provided as part of the installation were scratch-n-sniff cards with a printed scent on their gold-coloured side. The gold colour made reference to the location of the installation \u2012 the Baroque Abbey library.
