This script, which had been in use throughout Europe for almost four centuries from the time of Charlemagne, gradually changed. Scribes began to \"bend\" the letters and increasingly used the \"broken\" Gothic texture in calligraphic scripts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">The 2017 manuscript exhibition documented the development of script from Carolingian minuscule to the new Gothic book scripts such as textura, bastarda and cursive, as well as the layouts of Gothic manuscripts with new illustrative elements. Font and image design in Gothic book culture were presented using Admont manuscripts and fragments.
