Diversity and a Focus on the Future: Stiftsgymnasium Offers a Wide Range of Programs for Lower and Upper Grades<\/h3>\n

In its anniversary year 2024, Stiftsgymnasium Admont sharpened its profile and will be accepting applications for the coming school year from February. It will be possible for 10 and 14-year-olds to join the new sports branch in autumn.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

For many fourth-graders - regardless of whether they are in primary or secondary school - they will have to decide which direction to take in a few weeks' time: Which school will I choose for my future? The Stiftsgymnasium Admont not only offers the opportunity to enter the lower school, but also to make a \"lateral entry\" into the upper school and has created an additional educational pathway with the new sports specialisation. A \"taster day\" is organised on 25 January for interested primary school pupils who would like to get to know the grammar school better (registration at sekretariat@gymnasium-admont.at). Insights into the upper school programme, which is also open to secondary school pupils, can be gained at any time during individual school tours.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t

In addition to the new sports branch, which offers a colourful mix of sports in the lower school and an outdoor focus in the upper school, the offer includes: a science branch, for which state-of-the-art laboratories and technology are available, a music branch, which optimally promotes musical talents through instrumental and choir lessons, and a language branch with a choice of Italian, Latin and French in addition to English lessons. Regardless of which branch they choose, pupils can deepen their interests through a variety of non-binding activities (e.g. football, drama, singing, climbing). In the upper school, some of the lessons can be freely chosen from a range of courses so that students can hone their skills profile for the working world of the future. Depending on their choice of courses, they acquire specific \"practical-project-related\", \"social-communicative\", \"creative-artistic\", \"research-analytical\" and \"emotional-empathic\" skills.<\/p>\n

When it was founded 380 years ago, Stiftsgymnasium Admont was given a clear mission to create educational opportunities for the region. The school still wants to fulfil this obligation today and combines tradition and innovation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On 17 December 2024, the grammar school hosted a ceremony at which, in addition to a look back at the school's history, insights into the modern profile and its future orientation were offered. One highlight of the evening was the presentation of the school big band video, which was elaborately produced in the Admont Abbey library.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t

The four core school areas \"Languages - Music - Natural Sciences - Sport\" presented their programme, which offers sixth form students in particular the opportunity to acquire a sound and interest-based education within four years. The \"lateral entrants\" day, which was organised at the same time as the ceremony, gave interested 12 to 14-year-olds a practical insight into the sixth form programme: they were able to try out working in the science laboratory, which is part of everyday school life in the STEM branch, or gain an insight into the outdoor focus of the sports branch on a course with avalanche awareness equipment in the outdoor area.<\/p>\n

Applications for entry to the lower and upper school at Stiftsgymnasium will be accepted in the week from 24 to 28 February. Appointment slots will be allocated for this enrolment week to ensure a smooth process without waiting times.
