The value of knowledge is up for debate. And it becomes a topic of discussion.<\/h5>\n

For centuries, human knowledge has been subject to constant updating through new discoveries, and yet today it seems more fragile and volatile than ever. The boundaries of its availability are being shattered, its validity questioned from one second to the next. Can the equation \u201eknowledge = power\u201c still hold true here?<\/p>\n

A visit to a library is like travelling back in time. Here, knowledge is given a physical form. Books serve to showcase education, wisdom and: power. The Admont Abbey Library symbolises this like no other place. It was established 250 years ago to showcase the abbey\u2019s treasure trove of knowledge and, with it, its (intellectual) wealth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n \n

The boundlessness of today\u2019s knowledge, on the other hand, brings about democratisation \u2013 and disorientation? What must we, and what can we, still know at all? And what role do books still play in this? Is the bookshelf losing its role as<\/p>\n

Is it a status symbol, or is it becoming a nostalgic space of longing? What questions should one ask of a place such as the Abbey Library, which embodies the once-indisputable equation \u201eknowledge = power\u201c within its vast spaces?<\/p>\n
