For the 7th time, the Benedictine Abbey of Admont is hosting a festival for lute and song. This year, the festival will be extended and feature particularly high-calibre concerts, to which we cordially invite you:<\/p>\n

\"Baroque meets Folk\" opening concert with \"I Zefirelli\" A concert of superlatives by a young 6-piece ensemble from Hamburg\/Bremen. It stands for innovative concert ideas and a breath of fresh air in early music. Founded in 2011, they have already won many prizes at international chamber music competitions. In 2013, \"I Zefirelli\" was named the Rheinsberg Court Orchestra. Lively, lively, unique!<\/p>\n

Lamenti and lute music Concert by the lecturers Evangelina Mascardi (lute and theorbo), Bettina Pahn (soprano) Cornelia Demmer (baroque lute) and Bernhard Ehrenfellner (accompanist) will transport the audience into the wonderfully noble sounds of early music from their solo repertoires.<\/p>\n

Final matin\u00e9e of the participants You can once again look forward to an exciting concert. Bernhard Ehrenfellner corrects the art songs, some of the singers are accompanied by the lutenists and perform what they have worked on. Here you can sense joy, fun and a lot of stage fright!<\/p>\n

The artists<\/h4>\n

The ensemble I Zefirelli stands for innovative concert ideas and a breath of fresh air in early music. I Zefirelli was invited to perform at the Potsdam-Sanssouci Music Festival back in 2011. In the same year, the young musicians won a special prize at the enviaM chamber music competition, following which the ensemble was invited to the MDR Musiksommer 2012 and was able to give a concert with musicians from the MDR Symphony Orchestra. I Zefirelli was appointed to the Rheinsberg Court Orchestra for 2013. After intensive phases of work, the ensemble gave three concerts in the Rheinsberg Palace Theatre. With their concert programme Mr. Handel in the Pub, the six young musicians won a grant from the Career Center of the Hamburg University of Music and Performing Arts in the internal university competition Concert of the Future in 2017. I Zefirelli won the special prize from WDR 3 at the 2019 International H.I.F. Biber Competition.<\/p>\n

Evangelina Mascardi<\/h4>\n

was born in Buenos Aires. She studied guitar at the \"Escuela Nacional de Musica J.P. Espanola\" before joining Hopkinson Smith's lute class at the Scola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland in 1997. She obtained her soloist diploma there in 2001. In 2004 she received her lute diploma from the \"Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello di Venezia\". She has been invited to perform as a soloist at festivals throughout Europe. Several CD productions are dedicated to the works of Bach, Weiss and Castaldi, Saint-Luc etc. She is in demand as a continuo player with the ensembles \"Zefiro\", \"Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra\" and \"Il Giardino Armonico\" and has recorded more than 30 CDs with these ensembles. She has performed in numerous renowned opera productions in Frankfurt, Basel, Buenos Aires, New York, Carnegie Hall, Paris, Tokyo and the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. Evangelina Mascardi teaches lute at the ISSM \"Conservatorio A. Vivaldi\" in Alessandria\/Italy.<\/p>\n

Bettina Pahn<\/h4>\n

studied violoncello at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik in Berlin. Vocal training for lied, oratorio and music education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Theatre. Many years of international concert activity, numerous CD productions under Maestro Ton Koopman. For autumn 2021 invitation to a series of lectures and concerts as part of the Early Music Platform of the AEC Congress in T\u00fcbingen. Courses for baroque singing in Bertinoro, Italy and Kunin, Czech Republic. Courses in baroque singing at the Jerusalem Academy of Music. Bettina Pahn currently holds a chair for early music singing at the University of the Arts in Bremen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n \n

Cornelia Demmer<\/h4>\n

Cornelia Demmer was born in Vienna. She successfully completed her studies in musicology at the universities of Vienna and Basel, as well as historical performance practice, majoring in lute at the Hochschule f. Musik und Theater M\u00fcnchen with Evangelina Mascardi. She will complete her Master of Performance (Lute) at the Scola Cantorum Basiliensis with Peter Croton and Julian Behr in the summer semester of 2021. She founded the Casaluna Lute Consort (17th century lute quartets) and the Radolt Ensemble (specialising in chamber music with obbligato lute). In addition to her international concert activities as a soloist and continuo player, she can also be heard on CD recordings for the Naxos and Coviello Classics labels. She has been Vice Chairwoman of the \u00d6LG since 2013 and is committed to raising public awareness of lute instruments. From autumn 2021, she will continue her studies with a master's degree in pedagogy at the Scola Basiliensis.<\/p>\n

Bernhard Ehrenfellner<\/h4>\n

was born in Salzburg and studied piano, singing, conducting and music education in Vienna. He works extensively as a singer, song accompanist and chamber musician. He is a music and instrumental teacher at the Stiftsgymnasium Admont and leads vocal ensembles, folk music and jazz formations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n\n
