El abad Gotthard Kuglmayr fund\u00f3 un \"Gabinete de Historia Natural\" en 1809. Este predecesor del Museo de Historia Natural fue destruido en el incendio de 1865. Entre 1866 y 1906, el padre Gabriel Strobl se dedic\u00f3 a la tarea de reconstruir el museo destruido. Al principio se centr\u00f3 sobre todo en la bot\u00e1nica, luego en la investigaci\u00f3n de los insectos. Como uno de los investigadores m\u00e1s importantes de su \u00e9poca, reuni\u00f3 una colecci\u00f3n de insectos de unos 252.000 ejemplares. Con m\u00e1s de 50.000 ejemplares, la colecci\u00f3n de d\u00edpteros (mosquitos y moscas) es una de las m\u00e1s importantes de Europa.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t<section class=\"firepress-section firepress-content firepress-section--background firepress-section--background-beige\"\n\t\t\n\t\tdata-firepress-content\n\t\tdata-firepress-lightbox-group>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__inner\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__grid firepress-content__grid--one-half\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t<div class=\"firepress-content__box firepress-content__box--one\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose\"><p class=\"paragraph-m\">Cuando el museo se remodel\u00f3 y reabri\u00f3 en 2003, una parte se dej\u00f3 en su estado hist\u00f3rico original. En la llamada \"Sala del Le\u00f3n\" y el \"Pabell\u00f3n Sureste\" se pueden ver exposiciones del mundo animal local y ex\u00f3tico, as\u00ed como una colecci\u00f3n de rocas y minerales. Otra parte de las colecciones se presenta en un ambiente moderno y en vitrinas en parte nuevas. Adem\u00e1s de informaci\u00f3n sobre el P. Gabriel Strobl, aqu\u00ed tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n representados insectos, reptiles y anfibios. Salas separadas est\u00e1n dedicadas al \"Parque Nacional de Ges\u00e4use\" y a las frutas de cera de gran realismo del P. Constantin Keller (1778-1864).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Los fot\u00f3grafos de la colecci\u00f3n Volker Weinhold y Sebastian K\u00f6pcke han fotografiado todas las frutas de cera. Una instalaci\u00f3n con una selecci\u00f3n de estos trabajos fotogr\u00e1ficos invita a los visitantes a entrar en la sala con los originales. Las detalladas fotograf\u00edas nos hacen darnos cuenta de lo diversa y previsora que era la fruticultura a mediados del siglo XIX, cuando la \"biodiversidad\" y la \"sostenibilidad\" a\u00fan no exist\u00edan. La famosa colecci\u00f3n de manzanas de cera de la abad\u00eda de Admont, en Estiria, se cre\u00f3 entre 1815 y 1840 bajo la direcci\u00f3n del padre Constantin Keller. Keller era de Graz y estaba muy a favor del cultivo de manzanas y de las innovaciones agr\u00edcolas asociadas en toda Estiria. Hoy se conservan 243 de estos modelos de cera. Algunos de ellos fueron modelados por el propio Keller a partir de moldes de escayola de frutas reales, con tallos aut\u00e9nticos, restos de flores y detalles como da\u00f1os causados por insectos o manchas de podredumbre. La gran diversidad de variedades que documentan pr\u00e1cticamente ha desaparecido de la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">La obra de Hannelore Demel-Lerchster integrada en la sala de la fruta de cera pone la guinda al pastel. Muestra una manzana mordida y cosida para que recupere la \"salud\" y lleva por t\u00edtulo \"Making good again\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Una serie de 9 grabados reelaborados de \"Die bl\u00fchende Steyermark\" de Arnulf Rainer, creada en 1986, entra en di\u00e1logo con los herbarios de los fondos del museo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">En alusi\u00f3n a la colecci\u00f3n de insectos del P. Gabriel Strobl, la artista Lisa Huber ha transformado motivos de insectos en recortes de papel de gran tama\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t<div
