L'abb\u00e9 Gotthard Kuglmayr a fond\u00e9 un \"Naturalien-Cabinet\" en 1809. Ce pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur du mus\u00e9e d'histoire naturelle a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truit lors de l'incendie de 1865. De 1866 \u00e0 1906, le p\u00e8re Gabriel Strobl s'est consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 sa mission de reconstruction du mus\u00e9e d\u00e9truit. Il s'est d'abord consacr\u00e9 en priorit\u00e9 \u00e0 la botanique, puis \u00e0 l'\u00e9tude des insectes. En tant qu'un des chercheurs les plus importants de son \u00e9poque, il a constitu\u00e9 une collection d'insectes d'environ 252.000 sp\u00e9cimens. La collection de dipt\u00e8res (moustiques et mouches) compte parmi les plus importantes d'Europe avec plus de 50.000 sp\u00e9cimens.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t<section class=\"firepress-section firepress-content firepress-section--background firepress-section--background-beige\"\n\t\t\n\t\tdata-firepress-content\n\t\tdata-firepress-lightbox-group>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__inner\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__grid firepress-content__grid--one-half\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t<div class=\"firepress-content__box firepress-content__box--one\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose\"><p class=\"paragraph-m\">Lors du r\u00e9am\u00e9nagement et de l'ouverture du mus\u00e9e en 2003, une partie a \u00e9t\u00e9 laiss\u00e9e dans son \u00e9tat historique d'origine. Dans la \"chambre des lions\" et le \"pavillon sud-est\", on peut voir des objets de la faune locale et exotique ainsi qu'une collection de roches et de min\u00e9raux. Une autre partie des collections est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e dans une ambiance moderne et dans des vitrines en partie nouvelles. Outre des informations sur le P. Gabriel Strobl, les insectes, les reptiles et les amphibiens y sont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s. Des salles sp\u00e9ciales sont consacr\u00e9es au \"Parc national du Ges\u00e4use\" et aux fruits en cire fid\u00e8les \u00e0 la nature du P. Constantin Keller (1778-1864).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Les photographes de la collection Volker Weinhold et Sebastian K\u00f6pcke ont photographi\u00e9 tous les fruits en cire. Une installation pr\u00e9sentant une s\u00e9lection de ces travaux photographiques invite \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans la salle o\u00f9 se trouvent les originaux. Les prises de vue d\u00e9taill\u00e9es font prendre conscience de la diversit\u00e9 et de la clairvoyance de la culture fruiti\u00e8re au milieu du 19e si\u00e8cle, alors qu'il n'\u00e9tait pas encore question de \"biodiversit\u00e9\" et de \"durabilit\u00e9\". La c\u00e9l\u00e8bre collection de pommes de cire de l'abbaye d'Admont en Styrie a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e entre 1815 et 1840 sous la direction du p\u00e8re Constantin Keller. Celui-ci \u00e9tait originaire de Graz et s'est beaucoup investi dans toute la Styrie pour la culture des pommes et les innovations agricoles qui y \u00e9taient li\u00e9es. Aujourd'hui, 243 de ces mod\u00e8les en cire sont encore conserv\u00e9s. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 en partie model\u00e9s par Keller lui-m\u00eame \u00e0 partir de moulages en pl\u00e2tre de fruits r\u00e9els, avec de v\u00e9ritables tiges, des restes de fleurs et des d\u00e9tails tels que les dommages caus\u00e9s par les insectes ou les taches de pourriture. La grande diversit\u00e9 de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s qu'ils documentent a pour ainsi dire disparu de la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">L'\u0153uvre de Hannelore Demel-Lerchster, int\u00e9gr\u00e9e dans la salle des fruits en cire, constitue une cerise sur le g\u00e2teau. Elle montre une pomme croqu\u00e9e et recousue \"sainement\" et porte le titre \"Wiedergut machen\" (se faire pardonner).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Une s\u00e9rie de 9 feuilles d'estampes retravaill\u00e9es, tir\u00e9es de \"Die bl\u00fchende Steyermark\" d'Arnulf Rainer et r\u00e9alis\u00e9es en 1986, entre en dialogue avec les herbiers des collections du mus\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">L'artiste Lisa Huber a transform\u00e9 des motifs d'insectes en papiers d\u00e9coup\u00e9s surdimensionn\u00e9s, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la collection d'insectes du
