En contrepartie, ces derniers devaient fournir au seigneur des contributions en nature sous forme de denr\u00e9es alimentaires ou des prestations de travail et de transport pour l'exploitation des terres mises \u00e0 leur disposition. Ce n'est qu'avec les bouleversements sociaux du milieu du XIXe si\u00e8cle que les sujets de l'\u00e9poque sont devenus des paysans libres sur les domaines agricoles qu'ils occupaient et qu'ils n'ont plus eu \u00e0 verser de prestations en nature. L'exploitation des terres agricoles et des alpages rest\u00e9s la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 de l'abbaye est aujourd'hui assur\u00e9e par des paysans de la r\u00e9gion sur la base de contrats de location et de droits d'usage.<\/p>\n<p>Pendant des si\u00e8cles, le d\u00e9veloppement et l'exploitation des for\u00eats de l'abbaye ont \u00e9t\u00e9 li\u00e9s au d\u00e9veloppement de l'industrie mini\u00e8re et au traitement des minerais et des min\u00e9raux extraits. Le bois servait en premier lieu de source d'\u00e9nergie pour le traitement des minerais et l'extraction du sel. Ce n'est qu'avec la construction des chemins de fer dans la deuxi\u00e8me moiti\u00e9 du XIXe si\u00e8cle et le transport de la houille vers les hauts fourneaux des usines sid\u00e9rurgiques rendu possible par ce biais que le bois a perdu son importance en tant que source d'\u00e9nergie pour l'industrie. De plus, les chemins de fer ont permis de transporter le bois sur de plus grandes distances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t<section class=\"firepress-section firepress-content firepress-section--background firepress-section--background-beige\"\n\t\t\n\t\tdata-firepress-content\n\t\tdata-firepress-lightbox-group>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__inner\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__grid firepress-content__grid--one-half\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t<div class=\"firepress-content__box firepress-content__box--one\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose\"><p>Avec la reconstruction qui a suivi la Seconde Guerre mondiale, l'exploitation du bois pour la production de bois d'\u0153uvre et la fabrication de papier et de carton a pris une importance sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent. L'utilisation de machines a r\u00e9volutionn\u00e9 la r\u00e9colte du bois. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la viabilisation intensive des surfaces foresti\u00e8res par des routes foresti\u00e8res accessibles aux camions au cours des 70 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, il a finalement \u00e9t\u00e9 possible de passer de coupes \u00e0 blanc sur de grandes surfaces \u00e0 des exploitations plus naturelles sur de petites surfaces et \u00e0 un rajeunissement naturel des peuplements forestiers. Dans le syst\u00e8me f\u00e9odal, la chasse \u00e9tait r\u00e9serv\u00e9e \u00e0 une classe sup\u00e9rieure privil\u00e9gi\u00e9e, mais elle servait \u00e9galement \u00e0 l'approvisionnement alimentaire, tout comme la p\u00eache. Dans la seconde moiti\u00e9 du 20e si\u00e8cle, son importance en tant que source de nourriture a diminu\u00e9 et la valeur \u00e9motionnelle de l'exp\u00e9rience cyn\u00e9g\u00e9tique est pass\u00e9e au premier plan. Actuellement, la chasse dans les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de l'abbaye \u00e9volue vers une gestion \u00e9cologiquement durable du gibier, avec pour objectif d'atteindre des niveaux de gibier adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 la capacit\u00e9 de charge de l'\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<p>L'exploitation foresti\u00e8re de l'abbaye produit actuellement de mani\u00e8re \u00e9cologique et \u00e9conomiquement durable environ 85.000 m\u00b3 de bois par an comme mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re pour l'industrie r\u00e9gionale du sciage, du papier et de la cellulose.
