L'abate Gotthard Kuglmayr fond\u00f2 un \"Gabinetto di Storia Naturale\" nel 1809. Questo predecessore del Museo di Storia Naturale fu distrutto nell'incendio del 1865. Dal 1866 al 1906, padre Gabriel Strobl si dedic\u00f2 alla ricostruzione del museo distrutto. Inizialmente si concentr\u00f2 soprattutto sulla botanica, poi sulla ricerca sugli insetti. Essendo uno dei pi\u00f9 importanti ricercatori del suo tempo, costru\u00ec una collezione di insetti di circa 252.000 esemplari. Con oltre 50.000 esemplari, la collezione di ditteri (zanzare e mosche) \u00e8 una delle pi\u00f9 importanti d'Europa.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t<section class=\"firepress-section firepress-content firepress-section--background firepress-section--background-beige\"\n\t\t\n\t\tdata-firepress-content\n\t\tdata-firepress-lightbox-group>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__inner\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"firepress-content__grid firepress-content__grid--one-half\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t<div class=\"firepress-content__box firepress-content__box--one\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose\"><p class=\"paragraph-m\">Quando il museo \u00e8 stato ristrutturato e riaperto nel 2003, una parte di esso \u00e8 stata lasciata nel suo stato storico originale. Nella cosiddetta \"Sala del Leone\" e nel \"Padiglione Sud-Est\" sono esposti reperti del mondo animale locale ed esotico, nonch\u00e9 una collezione di rocce e minerali. Un'altra parte delle collezioni \u00e8 presentata in un ambiente moderno e in vetrine in parte nuove. Oltre alle informazioni su P. Gabriel Strobl, qui sono rappresentati anche insetti, rettili e anfibi. Sale separate sono dedicate al \"Parco Nazionale Ges\u00e4use\" e ai frutti di cera realistici di Padre Constantin Keller (1778-1864).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">I fotografi della collezione Volker Weinhold e Sebastian K\u00f6pcke hanno fotografato tutti i frutti di cera. Un'installazione con una selezione di queste opere fotografiche invita i visitatori a entrare nella stanza con gli originali. Le fotografie dettagliate ci fanno capire quanto fosse varia e lungimirante la frutticoltura a met\u00e0 del XIX secolo, quando la \"biodiversit\u00e0\" e la \"sostenibilit\u00e0\" non esistevano ancora. La famosa collezione di mele di cera dell'Abbazia di Admont, in Stiria, fu creata tra il 1815 e il 1840 sotto la direzione di Padre Constantin Keller. Egli proveniva da Graz ed era molto favorevole alla coltivazione delle mele e alle relative innovazioni agricole in tutta la Stiria. Oggi sono ancora conservati 243 di questi modelli in cera. Alcuni di essi sono stati modellati dallo stesso Keller a partire da calchi in gesso di frutti veri, con steli reali, resti di fiori e dettagli come danni causati da insetti o macchie marce. La grande diversit\u00e0 di variet\u00e0 che documentano \u00e8 quasi scomparsa dalla regione.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">L'opera di Hannelore Demel-Lerchster integrata nella stanza della frutta di cera aggiunge la ciliegina sulla torta. Mostra una mela che \u00e8 stata morsa e ricucita per tornare \"in salute\" ed \u00e8 intitolata \"Making good again\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Una serie di 9 stampe rielaborate da \"Die bl\u00fchende Steyermark\" di Arnulf Rainer, creata nel 1986, entra in dialogo con gli erbari del museo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-m\">Alludendo alla collezione di insetti di Padre Gabriel Strobl, l'artista Lisa Huber ha trasformato i motivi degli insetti in ritagli di carta di grandi dimensioni.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t<div
