Nato a Bonn, ha scoperto il gusto per il monastero benedettino di Admont grazie a fratel Rupert Schwarz, mentre studiavano insieme teologia all'universit\u00e0 di Heiligenkreuz im Wienerwald. Dopo un anno di esami nel noviziato, decise di fare la professione semplice. Nel suo sermone, l'abate Gerhard ha sottolineato l'importanza centrale dell'ascolto per i benedettini: \u00e8 importante ascoltare il Vangelo, la Regola di San Benedetto, la comunit\u00e0 e le persone con cui viviamo. \u00c8 stato anche molto bello che molti consiglieri parrocchiali delle parrocchie collegiali abbiano celebrato questa festa con noi. Dopo gli anni di pausa della Corona, la \"Giornata delle parrocchie collegiali\", che celebriamo da diversi anni nella solennit\u00e0 del nostro religioso padre Benedetto, ha potuto essere riproposta
