General Chapter meets at Admont Abbey

The General Chapter of the Austrian Benedictine Congregation met in our house from 17 October to 20 October. In addition to all abbots and administrators and the delegates of the Austrian Benedictine monasteries, this year the creation officers of the individual monasteries also took part. This year's conference focussed on sustainability and the responsibility of monasteries in the area of protecting creation.
In addition to the individual conference points, the meeting was characterised by prayer and a cosy get-together, during which we celebrated the birthdays of our abbot and our prior. The Admont-Hall Music Society created an excellent atmosphere and even invited the Abbot Primate Gregory Polan OSB from Rome to play the baton.
