Palm Sunday - Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem

Sunday, 13 April 2025

Last Sunday, numerous believers celebrated Palm Sunday. Many people marched with palm bushes in a solemn procession to the church. The blessing of the palm branches and the joint church service formed the highlight of the celebrations.

For Palm Sunday:

Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter and marks the beginning of Holy Week. It commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, where people laid palm branches on the road and greeted him with cheers. This day symbolises the triumphal entry of Jesus and is celebrated in many Christian communities with special church services. Palm branches or ribbons are often blessed at the celebrations and then carried in processions. Palm Sunday is an important prelude to Easter week and is a reminder of hope and faith in Jesus' victory.
