May God’s blessing be upon all our roads
On St Christopher’s Sunday, we ask for God’s blessing for all those who are on the move. St Christopher is regarded as the patron saint of travellers and reminds us to be mindful, responsible and considerate of one another when we are out and about.
Whether on our way to work, on holiday or in our everyday lives – we trust that God is with us and watches over us. St Christopher’s Sunday is an opportunity to give thanks for a safe return home and to remember all those who are out on the roads every day, whether for work or in a voluntary capacity.
In many parishes, vehicles are blessed on this day – as a visible sign of a plea for protection and safety. May God’s blessing be with all those who set out on their journeys, and may He always grant them a safe and pleasant journey.
