Shaping the future together
In the coming school year, Admonter Holzindustrie will be one of the few companies in the Liezen district to participate in the compulsory elective subject „Technology and Innovation in the Region“ (TIR). This is an innovative collaboration between the Stiftsgymnasium Admont, the Montanuniversität Leoben and industry. In doing so, the company is sending a strong signal in support of fostering technical specialists and the future of Upper Styria as a business location.
This compulsory elective module is aimed at pupils in Years 6 to 8 of AHS (Years 10 to 12) and brings together school, university and the business world from October to April. Following a kick-off event at the Montanuniversität Leoben, the programme includes company visits as well as preparatory and in-depth lessons. The pupils spend around one-third of their teaching time at school, one-third at the university and one-third at the partner companies.
The Admonter Holzindustrie uses this platform to present itself as an innovative employer and, in particular, to inspire schoolgirls and sixth-formers to pursue technical careers. At the same time, a wide range of training and career paths are presented, such as those ranging from university studies to the Dual Academy. The project helps young people to discover their interests and strengths and opens up educational and career opportunities after the Matura, whilst also highlighting alternative training pathways – including for young people with diverse educational backgrounds.
Admonter promotes a sense of regional identity and highlights attractive career opportunities in Upper Styria.
