A special day of faith and fellowship
On 28 September, Admont Benedictine Abbey, together with the parish community, marked the consecration anniversary of Admont Abbey and Parish Church. Numerous worshippers gathered to celebrate this special occasion together.
The consecration ceremony served as a reminder that a church is far more than just an impressive building. It is a place of faith, fellowship, hope and communal prayer – a place that has brought people together for generations.
The towers of the collegiate church, visible from afar, not only characterise the appearance of Admont, but also symbolise a centuries-old spiritual tradition that has remained alive to this day.
As both a monastery church and a parish church, the collegiate church holds a special place. It is here that the monks of the Benedictine monastery hold their services, it is here that the parish congregation gathers, and it is here that faith and community accompany people through the most varied moments of their lives.
The consecration day provided an opportunity to pause and look back with gratitude on all those people who have brought this special place to life over the generations and continue to do so to this day.
And so the day of the consecration became a beautiful symbol of faith in action, fellowship and solidarity.
A heartfelt ‘God bless you’ was extended to all those who took part in and helped organise this special service, thereby making it a fitting celebration at the collegiate and parish church in Admont.
