Simple profession of Fr Markus Kraemer OSB

On his 29th birthday on 21 March 2023, frater Markus Kraemer took his temporary vows for three years into the hands of Abbot Gerhard Hafner. Born in Bonn, he discovered a taste for the Benedictine monastery of Admont through frater Rupert Schwarz while studying theology together at the university in Heiligenkreuz im Wienerwald. After a year of examinations in the novitiate, he decided to make his simple profession. In his sermon, Abbot Gerhard emphasised the central importance of listening for the Benedictines: it is important to listen to the Gospel, to the Rule of St Benedict, to the community and to the people with whom we live. It was also very nice that many parish councillors from the collegiate parishes celebrated this festival with us. After the years of the Corona break, the "Day of the Collegiate Parishes", which we have been celebrating for several years on the Solemnity of our religious father Benedict, could be held again in this way. - frater Markus, who was asked to pray fervently for a frater Lukas (then all the names of the evangelists would be represented in the Admont monastic community), will continue his theological studies in Heiligenkreuz.
