Good Friday

Good Friday

The day of silence and remembrance

Today we commemorate the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.

In the simple, impressive Good Friday liturgy, we lingered in silence, listened to the Gospel of the Passion and venerated the cross.

For Good Friday:

Good Friday is an important Christian holiday that commemorates the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. It always falls on the Friday before Easter Sunday and is a public holiday in many countries. On this day, Christians commemorate the suffering and death of Jesus, which is considered a central event in the Christian faith. Many churches hold special services on Good Friday, often centred around Stations of the Cross and silent devotions. The day is characterised by contemplation, mourning and reverence. Good Friday marks the climax of the Passiontide and prepares the faithful for the joy of the resurrection on Easter Sunday.
