Maundy Thursday
A particularly solemn and touching service was held at Admont Abbey on Maundy Thursday. The atmospheric liturgy and the impressive atmosphere in the abbey church lent this evening a special depth and dignity.
A central part of the celebration was the washing of the feet by the Lord Abbot, a symbolic act that symbolises humility and servant love in a special way and made the message of Maundy Thursday tangible in an impressive way.
Maundy Thursday invites us to pause and reflect on the essential values of the Christian faith: Community, gratitude and lived charity.
Thank you to all those who took part and to the many worshippers for celebrating this special service together.
