A special two-wheeler blessing in Frauenberg an der Enns
The Prior of the Benedictine Abbey of Admont, Fr Maximilian Schiefermüller, invited guests to a very special blessing and many enthusiastic cyclists accepted the invitation on the Frauenberg.
On the Thursday of Ascension Day, Frauenberg an der Enns (near Admont) hosted a festive mass at 10.30 a.m. in the parish and pilgrimage church. This was followed by the blessing of the Vespa and scooter by Father Prior at "Abt Bruno Platz". Young and old were represented with two-wheelers on the Frauenberg. "Today we were amazed to see a full Frauenberg church and around 50 Vespas, scooters and the like parked in front of the church. A marvellous festival at the very first attempt! We'll do it again next year on Ascension Day, said Father Prior after the blessing.
The participants travelled over two hours to be present at the blessing. Strengthened, after an aperitif, they returned home with God's blessing.
