A day of thanks for the beneficial work of our abbot
On 25 January the election day of our Most Reverend Abbot was celebrated during the church service. Since the year 2017 Abbot Mag. Gerhard Hafner OSB Admont Benedictine Abbey and has characterised the spiritual and communal life of our house ever since.
To mark the occasion, a solemn Holy Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. in Admont Abbey Church, to which many of the faithful were cordially invited. Many people accepted the invitation and gathered to pray together on this special day.
The sermon was given by Provost Markus Grasl CanReg from Reichersberg Abbey, who emphasised the election day with his words and encouraged us to be grateful and look to the future with confidence.
The solemnity of the liturgy and the palpable solidarity of the many celebrants made this election day a particularly worthy and touching moment. The community's lived faith became visible and tangible in the communal prayer and attentive celebration.
This day thus became a sign of gratitude for the work of our Most Reverend Abbot to date and a strengthening for the future path together.
