Temporary profession fr. Peter

Friday, 3 September 2021

On the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 8 September 2021, our confrere Fr Peter will commit himself to our Benedictine community of Admont for 3 years with his temporary profession.

Frater Petrus Dreyhaupt OSB was born in Bremen in 1996. He grew up in Wilhelmshaven (Lower Saxony, Germany) and near Altötting (Bavaria, Germany). In 2016 he entered Göttweig Abbey in Lower Austria. Began studying specialised theology in Salzburg in 2017. On 8 September, Fr Peter made another temporary profession in Admont. This commits him to the community of Admont for three years. The time in Göttweig was an instructive time for him, during which he was able to familiarise himself with Benedictine life. Through reflection and clarification of the further spiritual path - another side and meaning of the temporary profession - he came to the decision to continue and test his path of seeking God in Admont Abbey.
