The Benedictine Abbey of Admont was founded in 1074 and is located in the lower Enns Valley in the heart of Austria. It is known for its extensive gardens, which are tended by the staff of its own nursery. In the 2,500 m² glasshouses of the Admont Abbey nursery, fragrant flowers and herbs grow alongside vigorous young vegetable plants. With all their knowledge and the right instinct, they look after our plants from the first awakening to the sale. For them, sustainable cultivation means harmonising human will and natural development. To protect plants from pests, they therefore rely on beneficial animals instead of chemical pesticides.

What you can expect:

In the glasshouses of the Admont Abbey nursery, fragrant flowers and herbs grow alongside vigorous young vegetable plants over an area of 2,500 m². With all their knowledge and the right instinct, they look after our plants from the first awakening to the sale.
For them, sustainable cultivation means harmonising human will and natural development. To protect plants from pests, they therefore rely on beneficial animal organisms instead of chemical agents.
Tasks:
- Vegetable and plant seeds in beds and seed trays

- Caring for young plants (watering, fertilising, weeding, etc.)
- Carry out pest control measures
- Transplant young plants into beds (in cold frames or outdoor beds)
- Preparing vegetable and ornamental plants for sale
- Design and maintain outdoor facilities
- Handling gardening tools
What you bring with you:
- Young people who have successfully completed the 9th school year
- High school graduate or school dropout from a secondary school
- Manual dexterity and physical resilience
- Have an interest in plants and nature
- Flexibility, punctuality and the ability to work in a team are
- Have the ability to think and work independently
