Monastery market and Advent market

Monastery market days in Admont Abbey

The monastery market at Admont Abbey: The famous monastery market days take place every year at Admont Abbey. Monasteries from home and abroad present their products for body and soul in the Rosarium of Admont Abbey. The Gesäuse National Park is also represented with its partner businesses. An exciting and entertaining children's programme ensures that even the youngest market visitors will not be bored.

Advent at Admont Abbey

The Admont Benedictine Abbey looks mystical in winter. In this atmosphere, you can experience contemplative and moving hours within the monastery walls during Advent at Admont Abbey, which creates a wonderful ambience every year on the third weekend of Advent. At this Advent market, you can also prepare for the birth of Jesus Christ at various church services. Some look forward to the mulled wine, others prefer rye doughnuts or home-made sausages - and still others have come to shop and find handicrafts, bonnets, candles, jewellery and much more! The special ambience is one thing, but there is also the fact that "Advent at Admont Abbey" has a long tradition and a great programme. Children in particular enjoy the Christmas post office, where they can send letters to the Christ Child and look forward to a reply. Children can also make small Christmas presents in the Christkindl workshop, ride a pony or marvel at the living nativity scene. And you can also "taste your way through the Gesäuse" - with specialities such as Ennstal rye or Styrian cheese doughnuts.
