The Gesäuse gives you strength
And in the truest sense of the word. We don't say that because it sounds good. No, we say it because we really mean it. There is strength in tranquillity and simplicity as well as in sporting activity. Consciously enjoying authentic regional specialities, immersing yourself in the almost thousand-year-old high culture of Admont Abbey and in a folk culture that is as old as it is alive - all this gives you strength.
The Gesäuse has grown. And that's great. With the reform of the tourism structure, eleven adventure regions have emerged in Styria. The Gesäuse is one of them and has been named an "outdoor adventure region".
The good news to start with: the Gesäuse still exists. And with the expansive Paltental valley, idyllic Lassing and the shopping queen Liezen, we've even got some good new additions. The new Gesäuse now encompasses the entire eastern district of Liezen, which makes up around 1.7% of Austria's national territory.
