Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday

... is the Thursday before Easter and has a special significance in Christianity. It commemorates Jesus' last supper with his disciples before he was crucified. The Eucharist is often celebrated on this day and many churches organise special services.

A central ritual that is often practised on Maundy Thursday is the washing of the feet. This tradition is based on the biblical story in which Jesus washes the feet of his disciples to demonstrate their humility and willingness to serve. Foot washing symbolises the willingness to serve others and reminds believers that true greatness lies in serving others.

We thank the apostles for their service on Maundy Thursday.
