Great recognition for practising responsibility and sustainable management
Admont Abbey was honoured with the „Award of Appreciation of the Diocese of Graz-Seckau for Exemplary Management“ at a festive ceremony. The award recognised the monastery's ongoing commitment to value-oriented, responsible and forward-looking economic management.
The entire foundation was delighted. The honour was seen as a special appreciation of the work carried out and at the same time as an incentive to continue along the chosen path.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, at 17:00 in the impressive ambience of Seggau Castle. During the event, Wilhelm Krautwaschl presented the award in person, together with representatives from politics and the social partnership. The evening was hosted by Oliver Zeisberger.
A total of eight companies were honoured for their exemplary business practices. Admont Abbey was represented at the award ceremony by Abbot Gerhard Hafner, the confreres from the economic chapter, the economic director and the managers of the abbey.
The appreciation award consisted of an episcopal certificate and a sculpture specially designed by a renowned artist - a visible sign of recognition for responsible management in the interests of the common good.
The ceremony was followed by an atmospheric get-together with a regional buffet on the terrace of Seggau Castle, which provided space for encounters and dialogue.
Our Most Reverend Abbot Gerhard Hafner OSB emphasised the special significance of the award in a statement and expressed his thanks:
„I would like to thank all the confreres, our economic director Franz Pichler, the managers of the monastery and all the employees. This award is the result of consistent, sustainable and collaborative work across many areas. It shows that our common path of responsibility and future-orientation is recognised and appreciated!“
At Admont Abbey, gratitude prevailed - for the recognition, for the trust and for the confirmation of the path taken so far, which has been consistently pursued in the spirit of responsibility, quality and sustainability.
