Open the door of Advent: Let in peace and joy and justice and faith!
For many communities and families, the contemplative season of Advent begins with the blessing of the Advent wreath. The green branches symbolise life and hope, the candles the growing light that leads us towards Christmas.
During the blessing, we ask that God's light fills our homes and hearts, gives us peace and prepares us for the coming of Christ. The anticipation grows with every lit candle - a silent sign that God accompanies us and shines into the darkness of our everyday lives.
May the Advent wreath accompany us through these weeks and remind us again and again of what really counts: Trust, love and community.
