Celebration of the church festival at Admont Abbey
On Sunday, 28 September, the consecration of the abbey church was celebrated in Admont Abbey Church - a special day in the cycle of the year on which the consecration of the church as a house of God is solemnly commemorated. Numerous believers came together in a festive Holy Mass to honour the spiritual centre of the abbey and the parish community. The church consecration festival is a reminder of the importance of the church as a place of encounter with God, a place of prayer, silence and community.
With its festive music and liturgy, the Holy Mass was an expression of gratitude for the history and spiritual work of the abbey church - a place that has accompanied people on their journey of faith for centuries.
The church consecration festival is therefore not only a look back at the consecration of the collegiate church, but also a look forward: to a church that remains alive through prayer, togetherness and trust in God's presence in our midst.
