Consecration of two priests in the collegiate church: great joy for our house
On 18 May 2025, we were able to celebrate a very special event in the collegiate church: the solemn ordination of our two confreres, Father Josef Beer and Father Petrus Dreyhaupt, took place at 2 pm. The festive ordination service was conducted by Auxiliary Bishop Johannes Freitag, who came on behalf of Diocesan Bishop Wilhelm Krautwaschl. He was present at the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV in Rome at the same time.
For our house, this day was a great joy and a visible sign of living faith. "The fact that God still calls young people to a spiritual ministry today is a special gift," said Abbot Gerhard Hafner. In their lives, both new priests had deeply internalised what the Christian faith is all about: "They spell out the love of God and love of neighbour in their everyday lives."
Even though Father Joseph and Father Peter have different personalities, Abbot Gerhard is certain: "Both will certainly be there for their fellow human beings in a pastoral capacity."
We thank God for this day of grace and accompany our two confreres in prayer as they continue their priestly ministry.
