Around 180 companies, organisations and PR agencies from Austria, Germany and Switzerland have applied for the PR Image Award 2023. The coveted industry prize is awarded by the Austria Press Agency APA together with news aktuell and is being presented for the 18th time. Around 550 images were submitted and scrutinised by a 20-strong jury of PR and media professionals. "We are once again looking for first-class, pointed, astonishing, humorous, touching and expressive images. Photos that move and are memorable," says Julia Wippersberg, jury member and Managing Director of APA-OTS Originaltext-Service. These high standards were met by 70 of the 550 photos submitted, which have now been presented on a shortlist. Among them: Admont Benedictine Abbey, which was nominated in three of the seven categories for the best PR image of 2023. "For us, this nomination is confirmation of our consistent work, through which Admont Abbey has now achieved worldwide recognition. And of course, this can only be achieved through meaningful and moving images," says Mario Brandmüller, Head of Culture, Tourism and PR at Admont Abbey.
In the "Portrait" category, the Benedictine monastery is even the only Austrian organisation to be nominated for the best PR image. This was achieved with a portrait of Father Vinzenz Schager working on his laptop in the archive. The foray by Father Michael Robitschko and Father Egon Homann through the Benedictine vineyard in Slovenia convinced the jury to nominate it in the "Stories & Campaigns" category. And the panoramic photo of the world's largest monastery library catapulted Admont Abbey into the top 10 submissions in the "Tourism" category.
The result of the online vote will decide whether one or all three images will soon be honoured with the PR Image Award 2023. Both interested parties and experts can vote up to and including the end of September at
