The Benedictines: A fulfilled life in all seasons: In the 950th anniversary year, Frater Benedikt Nemeth took his simple vows for three years into the hands of Abbot Gerhard Hafner on 27 September. Abbot Gerhard gave a special welcome to the parents, siblings and grandmother of our youngest confrere, who comes from Sopron in Hungary. The Voice of Family group and Abbey organist Thomas Zala set the musical tone. Abbot Gerhard emphasised that the spiritual vocation of the confreres should be regarded with reverence. For Abbot Gerhard, the lifelong search for God and the love of Christ are the core of monastic life - in all its seasons. At 26, Brother Benedikt sees Abbot Gerhard as being in "springtime". After Salzburg to study theology and on all his journeys through life, Abbot Gerhard gives Frater Benedikt the following advice: Let your name be your programme: Be a blessing for your fellow human beings. - Fr Michael-Christian Robitschko is in the "summer" of his life. After 25 years of religious life, the parish priest of Trieben, St. Lorenzen im Paltental and Hohentauern made his silver profession on 27 September. - To complete the seasons, Abbot Gerhard, soon to be in his sixties, may stand for the "autumn" and the senior of our house, Father Koloman Viertler, aged 86, for the "winter". Ad multos annos!
