The Admont Abbey Pharmacy - health with history and heart
St Benedict already told his brothers to take special care of the sick and infirm: "Care for the sick must come before and above everything else!"
For centuries, Admont Abbey Pharmacy has been a place of trust, care and the art of healing - a place where people and their health take centre stage. Shortly after the foundation of the monastery in 1074, old records document a monastery pharmacy. From the 15th century, it also opened its doors to the general public - and became an important point of contact for the population. Over the course of time, secular doctors and pharmacists worked here alongside monks - bridging the gap between tradition and progress.
The year 2018 marked a significant milestone: Mag. pharm. Andrea Pickl became the first woman in the almost thousand-year history of the Stiftsapotheke to take over the management - and leads it with passion, expertise and a clear goal:
"Combining tradition with innovation. Personal care and sound advice are our top priorities." Under her management, the pharmacy offers an extensive range of products - from traditional medicines to homeopathy, Schuessler salts and high-quality nutritional supplements.
The Abbey Pharmacy is located just a few steps away from the Admont Health Centre - and is much more than a place of medicine: it is a place of humanity, knowledge and lived responsibility.
