About the parish church of St. Martin am Grimming
The parish church in St. Martin am Grimming is dedicated to St. Martin (11 November).
A deed of donation from 1201 documents the transfer of a church in St Martin to Admont Abbey. This also proves that the first building already existed in the 12th century. The church took on its current form, which is more classicist than baroque, when it was rebuilt in 1738. The baroque high altar from 1650 probably originally came from St Martin's Castle Church in Graz. The side altars were created in the second half of the 18th century.
The parishes of Schladming, Haus, Pichl an der Enns, Kulm in der Ramsau, Assach, Gröbming, Großsölk, Kleinsölk, Öblarn, St. Martin am Grimming and St. Nikolai in der Sölk belong to the pastoral area of the Upper Enns Valley.
