Stiftsgymnasium provides insight into school diversity

One week after the official presentation of the new sports programme, which will be offered from the coming school year, the Stiftsgymnasium Admont opened its doors to all interested parties. Over 150 primary school pupils from the region accepted the invitation and were able to gain an overview of the school's curriculum on Thursday 24 October. However, the Stiftsgymnasium was also open to interested lateral entrants to the upper school.
After a brief introduction to the now four school branches (languages, music, natural sciences and - from 2025/26 - sports) the young guests swarmed out in groups to explore a variety of stations to find out which subjects and specialisms are on the grammar school's programme. In addition to musical performances, laboratory experiments, foreign language experience stations, sports demonstrations and much more, the focus was also on the connection to the Abbey and National Park, which the grammar school attaches great importance to as a local school. In keeping with the new sports programme with an outdoor focus in the upper school, a mountain bike course and a climbing wall were offered on the outdoor area.
In the meantime, parents were able to find out about the four branches of the school and the wide range of additional courses and qualifications on offer, as well as about support and childcare options, at their own guided tours and information stands.
The physical well-being of all guests was also catered for. At the end of an afternoon full of a colourful and practical programme, children and parents left the Stiftsgymnasium invigorated and with numerous impressions in their luggage. The positive feedback speaks for the success of the Open Day. The grammar school is looking forward to seeing the prospective first-year pupils again at the taster day on 25 January 2025! For all those who unfortunately missed the Open Day, additional school tours will be offered.
