Find out all the important information about confirmation here!
The word "confirmation" means "strengthening" (Latin confirmare - to strengthen). A follower of the apostles calls the Holy Spirit down upon you so that you can take your Christianity seriously and live it more powerfully. What began in baptism must be strengthened by the Holy Spirit so that it can unfold and prove itself in everyday life.
Confirmation aims to make you strong in life through faith! A few thoughts on this:
"I will make them strong through the Lord, and they will go their way in his name, says the Lord." (Zechariah 10:12)
Confirmation and baptism belong together, even though for many people they take place almost 14 years apart. Both are sacraments, i.e. visible acts that make the (invisible) reality of God tangible!
You can decide for yourself! You have the opportunity to consciously and voluntarily decide in favour of Jesus Christ and a Christian life. The community of the church wants to help you discover and develop your own talents.
