All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day 2025

All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day in Admont Abbey Church - remembrance in hope

On 1 November, the parish community of Admont celebrated the Solemnity of All Saints in the collegiate church with a solemn Holy Mass. On this day, the Church honours all the saints - known and unknown - who led their lives in faithfulness to God and are now perfected in his glory. Their examples of life are an orientation and encouragement for the faithful of today. In the liturgy, the light of faith that carries us through dark times was particularly tangible.

On the following day, 2 November, All Souls' Day was celebrated - the day of silent remembrance of all the deceased. In a dignified Holy Mass, they were remembered and prayed for so that they may find eternal life with God. On All Souls' Day, the Church invites us to reconsider the connection between the living and the deceased - in the belief that the community of the Church endures beyond death.

These two days form a deep unity: All Saints' Day as a celebration of hope and fulfilment, All Souls' Day as an expression of love and prayer for those who have gone before us in faith. In the venerable atmosphere of the collegiate church, they were celebrated as days of remembrance, gratitude and confidence.
