Discover the diverse future opportunities at Stiftsgymnasium Admont
The Stiftsgymnasium Admont invites you to the „Oberstufenkompass“ - an orientation event on 10 December 2025 at 17:00 in the large ballroom of the Stiftsgymnasium.
The event is aimed at pupils in the 3rd and 4th year of lower secondary school, both from their own grammar school and from neighbouring secondary schools. The AHS upper secondary level offers the unique opportunity to acquire a broad and well-founded education in 4 years - as ideal preparation for studies or further career paths.
During the information event, interested students and parents will be given an overview of the educational programme offered by the sixth form - including a presentation of all four educational focuses and the special advantages of the sixth form (e.g. obtaining certificates, participating in competitions, individual skills profile for starting a career). Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for informal discussions in a friendly atmosphere. Teachers are available to answer any questions and, if necessary, give guided tours of the school.
A-levels in 4 years - with the best preparation for every field of study
The upper school of the Stiftsgymnasium Admont consists of four branches of education: Natural Sciences, Sport, Music and Languages. It is possible to enter the programme after completing the lower school as well as after graduating from a secondary school. The programme leads to the school-leaving examination within four years.
The upper school of the Stiftsgymnasium Admont provides a solid foundation for pupils with a clear focus of interest as well as those who want a broad general education. It provides the ideal preparation for all fields of study through sound, high-quality knowledge transfer. Pupils who are aiming for a future in technical and scientific disciplines or would like to orientate themselves towards sport and health are also in good hands here, as are those whose strengths lie in the creative arts.
Language teaching at the highest level prepares students not only for studies in the linguistic-communicative field, but also for internationally orientated studies.
The science programme offers an in-depth education in physics, chemistry and biology with additional theory lessons and practical laboratory exercises. The programme is supplemented by descriptive geometry and extended computer science lessons. As a partner school of the Montanuniversität Leoben, we have also received confirmation from the tertiary education sector: The grammar school also provides a perfect foundation for scientific and technical studies.
The music programme focuses on a sound musical education with music theory, instrumental lessons and choral singing. Music theory is anchored as an independent subject with performance assessments. The school also supports talented pupils in preparing for their studies to become professional musicians and enables them to attend preliminary studies at the conservatory.
The language branch is characterised by an enhanced foreign language education. By learning two living foreign languages and Latin, pupils gain a particularly broad communicative spectrum and in-depth language knowledge. They can test and prove their knowledge on language trips, job applications and certificates.
The sports branch includes an increased number of lessons in sports practice as well as theoretical content from the field of sports science. In the upper school, everything is centred around outdoor sports. The specialisation areas „Water“, „Rock“ and „Nature and Ethics“ provide each sixth form class with its own learning content in the diverse world of outdoor sports - from ski touring and rock climbing to white water rafting.
A special feature of the sixth form is the course system, which allows students to choose part of their timetable individually from a wide range of courses. This gives them an early insight into university structures and allows them to deepen their personal interests in a targeted manner - the skills profile, which they receive at the end of their sixth form career, also certifies that they have acquired professionally relevant skills during their school career.
