On Easter Monday morning, 21 April 2025, the Bishop of Rome, Pope Francis, returned home to the house of the Father! RIP!
To Pope Francis:
Pope Francis, whose real name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio, was born on 17 December 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was the 266th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church and was elected on 13 March 2013. He was known for his modest lifestyle, his social commitment and his efforts to bring the Church closer to the people. Before his election as Pope, he was Archbishop of Buenos Aires and a cardinal. Pope Francis was particularly committed to issues such as poverty, the environment and social justice.
