On the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, frater Petrus Dreyhaupt OSB made his simple profession for three years in our collegiate church. Our "youngest", born in Bremen, made a conscious decision to be baptised at the age of nine. Frater Petrus transferred to our monastery from the Benedictine monastery in Göttweig. In his sermon, Abbot Gerhard Hafner OSB smilingly invited him to eagerly ask God for a frater Paulus. - May frater Peter be allowed to experience in our community what we Benedictines ask for in many celebrations: Receive me, Lord, and I will live - let me not be ashamed in my hope.
From the abbot's sermon: "Dear St Peter! You didn't come from A to B but from B to A (from Bremen to Admont). Swimming against the tide, at least from time to time, and showing backbone are outstanding qualities of a Christian, let alone in the life of a monk."
