The Benedictine monastery of Admont was founded in 1074 and is located in the lower Enns Valley in the heart of Austria. In addition to its impressive monastery complex, it is known throughout the region as an innovative and crisis-proof employer. We are looking for an apprentice forestry worker to join our own forestry labour force.

What you can expect:
The Admont and Trieben forestry operations are responsible for around 25,000 hectares of land, of which around 17,800 hectares are forest. With an annual felling rate of 85,000 cubic metres, we are one of the leading forestry operations in Austria.
Our apprentices are part of a dynamic team and learn about the diverse practical aspects of forestry in our open-air forests during their training period: This primarily includes timber harvesting, i.e. felling, limbing and transporting the logs to the nearest forest road, reforestation with young trees, forest maintenance and pest control measures. In addition to these topics of forestry production (ecology, silviculture and forest protection), you will also deal with work techniques, organisation and safety during your training.
The skilled forestry worker apprenticeship lasts 3 years. The apprenticeship has bright prospects for the future, as domestic forestry will become increasingly important in the future for securing the raw material wood and renewable energy.
