The hands-on workshop in the museum of Admont Abbey
A highlight for all children aged 5 to 14
The ideal complement to a visit to the world's largest monastery library and the diverse museum scene we invite you to experience the museum with all your senses as part of our workshops, embark on a digital scavenger hunt around the monastery grounds, or immerse yourself in the feeling of being a monk for a short while...
How were medieval manuscripts produced or how do the two topics of monasteries and medicine fit together? These and many other questions will be answered during our workshops. We have summarised some interesting facts for you so that you will remember your visit to Admont Abbey.

If you would like to attend one of our workshops and visit our museum or library, please contact us at:
museumswerkstatt@stiftadmont.at
Please let us know your preferred date (within the museum's opening hours) and starting time. If you can give us a possible alternative date, we will be happy to use it if the preferred date is not possible. Please also let us know if there are any children with allergies, intolerances or special needs. Please note that some programmes require additional supervisors or weatherproof clothing. Larger groups will be divided due to the limited space available in the museum workshop. You can find this information directly in the workshop programmes as additional information. All of our workshops are aimed at children aged 5 to 14, are age-appropriate and consist of a theoretical and a practical part. Ultimately, all young and old explorers among you should take the respective topic home with them, both theoretically and practically! Have fun listening and discovering!

Museum with all the senses
Normally, the motto in museums is "Don't touch anything!" - but this workshop makes it possible to explore selected collection items in the Natural History Museum with all your senses. Benni and Ella, known from the Children's book "Die Jagd nach dem gestohlenen Schatz" (The hunt for the stolen treasure) (available in the abbey shop) accompany our youngest visitors on a playful journey of discovery, where there is much to explore, and not just with their eyes.
We kindly ask you to clarify any allergies and intolerances of the children with their legal guardians in advance and to inform us before the start of the programme.
