Admont 1074 - A journey through the history of the monastery

In spring 2024, a special exhibition dedicated to the almost thousand-year history of the monastery was opened on the first floor of the museum building at Admont Abbey. Under the title "Admont 1074 - A journey through the history of the monastery", visitors can experience a fascinating journey through time - from the beginnings of the Benedictine monastery to the present day.

The show features impressive exhibits from various centuries, including illuminated manuscripts from the Middle Ages, charcoal samples, the precious Pektorale (pectoral cross) and a contemporary photo collage by Lois Renner, which skilfully combines past and present.

The exhibition is open until 2 November 2025 at Admont Abbey for anyone who would like to experience it in person.

But even after that, nobody has to miss out on this impressive journey through history:

The exhibition will also be accessible virtually from autumn 2025! You can get a first insight here: 950 years of Admont Abbey | Discover Culture

In a multimedia online tour, visitors can expect audio tracks, videos, texts and high-resolution photographs that provide exciting insights into the development of the pen - conveniently accessible from anywhere.

Stay tuned - Admont Abbey is bringing its history into the digital future!
