Winery of the Admont Benedictine Abbey once again honoured several times
The renowned DVERI PAX winery, a traditional institution of the Benedictine Admont Abbey based in Jarenina (Slovenia), is continuing its impressive success story in 2025: Following numerous international awards this year - including Falstaff Gold, several Decanter awards and the title of "Best Sparkling Wine in Slovenia" - the winery has now been honoured with another milestone.

At awc vienna 2025, the world's largest officially recognised wine evaluation, DVERI PAX was once again awarded several prizes - and at the highest level. In a completely anonymous blind tasting process by an expert jury of international oenologists, sommeliers, wine analysts and trade journalists, several wines impressed across the board.
Two gold medals went to:
- Pinot Noir 2020
- Sauvignon Vajgen 2021
Four other wines were honoured with silver:
- Blaufränkisch 2016
- DB Brut 2014 (sparkling wine, already winner of numerous international awards)
- Chardonnay Vajgen 2021
- Riesling M 2019

The awc vienna is being held for the 22nd time this year - under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, the Mayor of Vienna Dr Michael Ludwig and in cooperation with the Austrian Winegrowers' Association, the City of Vienna, the Oenologists' Association and numerous other institutions. The event is regarded as one of the most demanding and objective wine evaluations in the world, not least due to its strictly regulated blind tasting system, which sets the highest international standards.
For DVERI PAX, this multiple award impressively confirms the winery's consistent commitment to quality. With deep roots in the centuries-old winemaking tradition of the Benedictine monastery of Admont and a clear eye for modern oenological developments, the winery has succeeded time and again in impressing both experts and wine lovers worldwide.
Franz Pichler, Economic Director of the Benedictine Abbey of Admont, is delighted with the repeated success: "We are delighted to have once again received these high-calibre awards. They are a strong sign of the conscientious, careful and quality-conscious work at our winery - and confirm our high standards of excellent wine quality."
Danilo Flakus, director and oenologist at the DVERI PAX winery, also emphasises the importance of the awards: "We are delighted about these next significant successes at international level. Our aim is to produce wines with character and the highest quality - and I am particularly pleased that we were able to impress the expert jury at awc vienna with our wines."
With this track record, DVERI PAX has finally become one of the most sought-after top wineries in Europe - and impressively demonstrates how monastic winemaking tradition can be combined with modern quality standards in a unique way.
