The over 800-year-old tradition of viticulture and wine production in north-east Slovenia is continued in the Dveri-Pax wine cellar. The vineyards of Admont Abbey are located in the regions of Maribor, Jeruzalem, Radgona and Kapela and cover a total area of 68 hectares. The preservation of nature and tradition is very important to them, but they also follow current developments in wine production with great interest. First-class wines with farm-gate prices: The award-winning white and red wines (e.g. Decanter World Wine Awards, AWC Vienna, etc.) from Dveri-Pax are a treasure in every wine cellar. Grown in carefully selected cellars, the regional varieties impress with their flavourful versatility and fruity freshness.

For festive hours: Brut Furmint/Sipon
The Brut Furmint/Sipon: The suitability of this grape variety for sparkling wine becomes clear from the very first sip: dry with a stringent and wonderfully ripe acidity - clear and precise. The 18 months on the lees ensure a wonderful interplay of flavours. This shimmering golden-yellow sparkling wine delights the nose with delicate hints of butter and fine yeast. There are also discreet notes of apples and pears - a characteristic of this aromatic grape variety.
Food recommendation: Goes well with starters, smoked trout or smoked salmon, seafood and sushi. A wonderful aperitif and the ultimate festive sparkling wine.
The "Brut Furmint/Sipon" and many other wines from our Dveri Pax winery are available at the wine shop in the Haus der Begegnung.

Sparkling wines and wines of special quality
Following the successful launch of the Urban sparkling wine, we have added the DP Brut and Furmint/Šipon sparkling wines to our range. We have also recently added a rose sparkling wine, which has quickly found a following. Our sparkling wines are produced with love and passion. Among the Prädikat wines, you will also find semi-dry wines, a Beerenauslese and a Furmint wine with a hay flavour.
The history
The nobleman Rudolf Wittenswald bequeathed the Jahringhof estate to the church between 1130 and 1135 - out of gratitude. Salzburg Bishop Konrad I granted the entire estate to the Styrian Benedictine monastery of Admont. The estate grew over the centuries through acquisitions and donations. The monastery also cultivated vineyards in the region around Eisenthür (Železne dveri) and Kapela. As early as 1300, Abbot Engelbert bought a vineyard in the Železne dveri region from a villager named Lubet Valba from Radgona. The Benedictines cultivated wine on all their lands, which was brought to Austria in carts by the subordinate farmers from Admont. Written sources prove that the monastery vineyards were cultivated in an exemplary manner and the wine was expertly pressed. The monks gave the stewards written instructions on how the subordinate farmers or tenants should cultivate the vineyard. These instructions ("Instructiones"), which comprised 43 points, were given to the steward of Jahringhof by Abbot Anselm Lierzer in 1712: "As the vineyards are of particular importance to us, we instruct the workers to show the greatest enthusiasm, loyalty and diligence in the fulfilment of their tasks, so that every job is done at the right time and appropriately. The first pruning and chopping must be carried out in his presence, with special care and patience. These two things should not be done too late, as this could cause serious damage to the crops. Nor should the vines be tied up too early or in wet weather."
