Ulli Mattlschweiger takes over the Sportalm
The Kaiserau, known as a family-friendly leisure and recreation area, delights visitors all year round: in summer with wonderful hiking trails, in winter as the region's favourite ski area. At the heart of this natural paradise is the Sportalm - the gastronomic centre for all those who appreciate enjoyment, hospitality and regional quality.
In December 2025, Ulli Mattlschweiger, successful tenant of the Stiftskeller Admont, also took over the Sportalm on the Kaiserau. This means that an experienced host and passionate restaurateur will place the culinary management of this popular excursion destination in new hands - with a clear focus on quality, regionality and warm hospitality.
At around 1,100 metres above sea level, the Sportalm is a popular meeting place for connoisseurs and active holidaymakers in the middle of the Kaiserau's magnificent natural paradise. Whether after hiking, skiing or simply to relax: In the cosy restaurant, the rustic parlour or on the sun terrace with panoramic views, guests are treated to regional specialities and home-made delicacies from the local cuisine.
Ulli Mattlschweiger, tenant of the Sportalm, is looking forward to his new role: „I'm really looking forward to this new challenge and the opportunity to manage the Sportalm on the Kaiserau in the future. The location, the nature and the special atmosphere up here are unique. My aim is to offer guests at the Kaiserau the same quality, regionality and warmth that they already know from the Stiftskeller Admont - simply a place to feel good, enjoy and come together.“
